I haven't seen the film, but I don't think it's necessarily wrong to humanize someone - no matter how demented and evil they were. However, it still remains divisive, mostly because it's a more sympathetic portrayal of the rise of one of the most ruthless serial killers in history in the city where he struck hardest. There's a difference.Īn individual cinema can decide not to book or show it if they wish, but it's not like the Milwaukee City Council banned the film from being shown the city. Not banned, but pulled voluntarily from cinemas.
